I am currently trying to install Windows Vista RC1 on my computer. I have 2
hard drives. The primary drive is 120GB and the secondary is 60GB. I tried
to install a fresh copy on my secondary drive. I ran the advisor. It found
problems with my sound card and USB wireless internet reciever. During
"Completing Installation", my computer restarts unexpectedly. Windows Vista
starts but as soon as the background comes up, I get a message box with an
error message telling me that installation has failed. What can I do to
prevent this?

Hey Brad...

Just wanted to give you a heads up... that I had the same problem as you and
it got very irritating.... I thought that it was DVD, then hard drive... so i
re-burned the DVD iso file... and changed the hard drive... then I remember
what the Upgrade Advisor told me that wasn't compataible... I realized that
it was my wireless internet card... a d-link... i took that out and 30
minutes later... welcome to Windows Vista... So take out any thing that is
not required from your PCI slots... In my case i think the restarts were
caused when Vista installer could not find drivers for the air card... but it
didn't say anything just restarted... and make sure that only hardware that
you have installed when you got your computer is installed nothing else....
and give that a shot and see what happens...

Let me know if this helped...
