Toshiba satellite L40 wont read some gaming disks

Hi my laptop is really starting to annoy me. I have bought a number of game disks over the past few months and rougly 1 in every 3 arent reading, the drive makes the buzzing noise then stops. I know its not the disks as they read fine on my brothers and mums laptop.
