| My client is trying to print tiff images in Windows Vista Business. It does
print, but the layout of the image automatically vhanges to landscape and it
must be portrait.
Can anyone help with this problem?

Sorry I can't trace that printer anywhere, not even on Kyocera
websites. Are you sure that is the correct designation? It looks more
like a group of printers.
What country are you located in? |

I have this same problem. No matter what printer in the office I use (we have several HP Lasers). Windows Photo Gallery seems to be the default program for a .tiff file. It appears on the screen to be oriented 8 1/2 by 11 as you would expect a "normal" piece of paper to be. When I go to print it re-orients to landscape mode. If I switch to portrait the software automatically reorients to landscape for the printing. As a result all of my faxes get printed "sideways".
We have all of our faxes come in via e-mail as an attachment to our receptionist who views them and forwards the attachment via e-mail to the appropriate person in the office.
Needless to say if the fax does not need to be printed there is no problem, but if we need to print it to send to a client there is a problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

We have Windows vista in my office and had the same problem printing to a Cannon 2200 system. I installed Alternatiff and everything worked fine after that.
Google it.. I don't know how to add a URL.

For .tif and .tiff...
XP uses Microsoft Office Document Imaging
Vista uses Windows Photo Gallery
If you have Office 2007 installed a workaround is easy.
Modify your Office installation (control panel, Programs and features) to include Microsoft Office Document Imaging.
Then change the association for .tif and/or .tiff so it uses MODI to open tiff files. (control panel, default programs, Associate a file type or...)
For the folks typing to help here, instead of just asking a bunch of questions, actually try and do it yourself first. No need to know what printer they are using or program opens up. Open up a tiff file on your vista, print it out and see what happens?!?! Sorry, don't mean to be a jerk, but, geez. These people are fustrated enough without 20 unnecessary questions. |
