The Sims 2 Won't Work For My Windows Vista!!! PLEASE HELP!

I keep trying to get it to work but it won't! It installs fine but when i go to play it I put the first disk in and it says "Unexpected Error". I checked out on this website to make sure everything that my computer has is compatible for The Sims 2 and it checked out just fine and everything was the best I can have for the game!
Also when I try to uninstall it, it wont work either. a black box flashes up really quick. Kinda like when a program is missing something or has something added to it thats not suppose to be there. lol I dunno if that makes sense but hopefully it makes somewhat a little sense.
Its just making me really upset cuz I cant play my game! I figured maybe it needed an Update/Patch, from Maxis website so I download it and i go to run it to install it and it goes through part of it and then it says there's an error!
I got it to load up once and start and I tried to put my expansion packs on and when they get to there update part at the end it says theres an error (same error message I get when i download the update from Maxis website and same kinda update) and I figured that maybe it just installed wierd for some reason and i tried to uninstall it but like i said it wouldnt uninstall Sooooooo....I went here and found a forum about manually uninstalling it so I did that. anyways I hope some one can help me! I havent found anyone talk about the problem im having with this damn thing!!! =[ I really miss my game.... =/

hi, i have a problem with the sims 2 too. i have windows vista.

i managed to install the sims fine, installed the patch too. but when i try to run it, an error message appears saying 'insert the correct DVD ROM. Click ok and restart the application'.

I've tried the crack but then instead of that message appears another one saying that the application has compatibility problems, which was the original problem that appeared before i installed the update patch...

Recently I bought a new Dell computer
its a Dimension E521

This is a little about it:

Type if Vista: Home Premium
processor: AMD Athlon (tm) 64X 2 Duel Core Processor 3600+ 1.90 GHz
Memory: 1022 MB
System Type: 32-bit operating system
Graphics card: ATI Radeon X1300 PRO

I dunno if its good or bad but anyway:
I have the sims 2, sims 2 pets, nighlife, Open For Business, Seasons, Family Stuff and university (no special order, just wrote whats in my head lol)
It worked fine the 1st month but then weird stuff started happening. I remember at that peek, i think, i got the family stuff fun pack (or whatever its called lol) plus my sis was downloading some stuff from the internet onto the game. after about 30 mins of playing it froze and said " The application, has crashed. The application will now terminate"
we took away all the downloads and uninstalled family fun pack. but still, it says the application thing.

PLS HELP!

hi, i have teh same problem with sims:
in vista it wont works so i uptdate it, then i installed the crack but it over'uns the update... Shocked

i tried looking for a new crack but didnÂ´t find a thing

did you find a solution... please tell me if you did

or my only options is to install xp... not only for sims but for all the other apps that don' run on vista...damn good for nothing vista

hi it's me again i donÂ´t know if you're still looking for a solution or allready find it but here it goes:

for sims 2 only i didn't fing no compatible crack for vista but i did the following:

1- installed sims 2
2- copy7paste the crack to EAgames\thesims2\tsbin...or something like yhis
3-updated it for vista (sims 2 site, need cd 4 or dvd)
4- after this you won't be able to use the crack (but in my case the crack didn't allowed construction on xp!)
4-installed the "open for business" expansion
5-cracked it, now works perfectly

It gets really annoying. Mad

Meh, I really dont know how to fix it so im thinking about uninstalling it and restarting the program itself. but other than that mine works fine...

I actually got mine to work for all of 5 minutes, then is stopped responding. When it was working it flashed at me. Confused

now it wont work at all!!! i went out and bought a brand new laptop just because i was jonesing for a sim fix and now i feel like im going thru withdrawal!!! HELP!!!
