When I tried to install the Sims 2 (on windows vista), it would go about a second and a half before giving me this message: A problem occurred when trying to transfer the file D:\TSData\Res\sims3D\Sims08.package from the media. Do you want to retry? I retry, the message instantly pops up again, whatever.
I found a thread on here in which the same problem was presented and help was given. That is not my problem. ZEUS_GB explained how to manually install the Sims 2 by copying the contents of the CDs into Disk Images folders in My Computer.
So now I'm manually installing. Anyway, I was copying the contents of the CDs to the Disk Images folders, and the first 2 disks went fine, but the third one gets almost finished copying and then a message pops up showing the "compressed" folder that is supposed to be copied and says "Invalid MS-Dos function" and gives me three options: Try Again, Skip, or Cancel. Click Try Again, same problem. Eject disk, try again, same problem.
I moved on to the fourth disk, and again it copied perfectly. Went back and tried the third disk again: no good. The compressed folders on the other disks copied fine, and the disk is in good condition, so I'm totally confused as to why the third one should be any different from the others. Help! |

Hi all,
I have another installation problem of the sims2. I have windows Vista Home basic, and try to install the sims2 DVD edition.
The problem that I have is this : when starting to copy the game files to the hard drive, I receive the message :
A problem occured when trying to transfer the file D:\Support\es\Leeme.txt from the media.
Do you want to retry to copy the file or cancel the installation ?
The funny thing is that I found that file on the DVD and copied to the Hard disc of my computer, but the installation does not work !!
Any idea ? |
