I can not seem to get my indexed search working. I am running Windows Vista
Business 64. The Windows Experience Index is 4.8. This is on a Dell
Precision 380.

If I go to control Panel, System Maint., Indexing Options It always states
that it is performing maintanence. I have tried rebooting, restarting
indexing and Windows Search services to no benifit. Indexed search does not
work in Outlook (2007) or in Windows (0 results for any search unless you
choose the search without index).

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Try rebuilding the index.

I had tried rebuilding the index on several occasions but the index always
indicated that it was in Maintenance.

I think the problem is now resolved - I updated my system bios and now the
index is building. I will right back if I have any other issues with the
index, but it seems to be behaving correctly after the bios update.
