Western Digital SATA Hard Drive - 640GB
Vista Home Premium - 64Bit
Gateway desktop.

Would someone know of any utility or method to restore a SATA hard
drive's factory full capacity size? During partitioning my drive, it
went from 595GB (640GB Drive) to only 32GB. Since it is a 64-Bit system,
I can't find a utility to restore the drive's full capacity.

Are you saying you only have one partition 32GB in size and no unused space
on the drive?

Already did. Called technical support, and was asked to download the
Acronis WD Edition. I tried, that did not work. I called again, we use
the same software and tried Vista's tool - no luck. Western Digital
could not fix their own hard drive. So now I am stuck until I find a
utility that would do it. This ('HDDGURU: HDD Capacity Restore Tool'
(http://hddguru.com/content/en/software/2007.07.20-HDD-Capacity-Restore-Tool/))
is awesome, but it is for 32Bit (used it and it's great).

Did you try "Extend Volume" in Disk Management?

THATS CORRECT. No unused space to expand to. The BIOS and the tool
manager can only show 32GB and not the factory's 596GB.

Then I suggest that you try reformatting the drive and again creating a
primary partition and reinstall your OS.

No option to "Extend Volume" in my Vista's Disk Management.

The "Extend Volume" is not active - it is greyed since the drive only
has/shows 32GB.

::DRIVE FIXED!::
:: ::
::Okay, KUDOs to you TheDraac. I got the drive fixed. First I must
have messed up the drive by using the Western Digital Lifeguard Tool on
their own drive - ironic.::
:: ::
::Using the Lifeguard Utility, I did what I had to and checked the BAs.
My Native MAX LBA did not match my Current MAX LBA, and I did not know
how to change it. I set, in the BIOS, the drive to LBA and the system
got up to 137GB. Then I ran the Acronis WD (Western Digital) Edition
(free) to check the integrity of the drive. It showed me the following
partitions: 32GB, 137Gb and UNUSED 144GB. I opened my Easeus Partition
Master to check the drive and found all the full size - it gave me more
than the factory, it gave me 610GB instead of the 595GB for a 640GB
drive.::
:: ::
::Am so excited! Thanks for all your help here, I really appreciate
all your help and time. You ALL have a wonderful weekend.::

http://www.hdat2.com/might do the job.

Otherwise, can you remove the drive and attach it to a 32-bit Windows
system to run HDDGuru on it?

On Western Digital's homepage download Data Lifeguard for 64 bit OS. There
is an option top zero out your hard drive. Then format it,in windows
manager. You will never see 640Gigs, A 640 Gb shows at 596 I believe,there
is an explanation on there site.If you bought the drive within 30 days.You
can call the 800 number for free support.

What utility did you use to format the drive?
