Post subject: Oblivion help, please!!!

I know this topic is in NUMEROUS other threads, even on NUMEROUS other forums! I have tried all the suggested fixes: oldblivion, updating drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling over and over, everything! Nothing works.....

My system specs are as follows:

HP dv2500 notebook
AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 TL-58 1.9GHz
1983MB RAM
32-bit Vista Home Premium

GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M
Integrated RAMDAC
Total available graphics memory: 799MB
Dedicated graphics memory: 64MB
Shared system memory: 735MB

Here's a detailed description of what happens:

I install oblivion, everything starts fine.

At the launcher, I change my graphics settings to very low so i can get the best performance, and then I launch Oblivion.

I started a new game, I made a Dark Elf. Then I get to where you choose your sign, I chose The Steed. Go through the basic tutorial catacombs, kill the goblins, etc. Then, I finally get to where I meet back up with the emperor and make my pathetic attempt at trying to save him. He dies, the blades guard talks to me about my destiny, I choose a class, I make a custom class, etc.

After I'm through with all that, I go to the manhole for the sewers, press the action button and the loading screen appears. The loading bar fills up and THEN the screen goes black and I get the message saying that Oblivion had to close.

ANY suggestions at all will be MORE than welcome. Thank you all!

Hello Mr_Silver and welcome to Lockergnome!

I've never run Oblivion though Vista so my help is kinda limited.

Have you tried drivers from the laptopvideo2go website?

http://www.laptopvideo2go.com

Have you tried running the game in compatibility mode?

Yeah, I've tried intsalling new EVERYTHING pretty much. All my drivers are up-to-date and I have tried running in compatability mode for Win XP and 2K.

I'm about ready to give up on it. Someone mentioned that maybe it was a shader pack something-or-other. Dunno much about those.

Any other suggestions would be most helpful and greatly appreciated!
