I posted this question in the games forum, but as it is a Vista gaming issue I thought this might be a better place fopr it.

I recently got Oblivion goty and can't seem to install it on my Vista machine. As it was originally written for xp I tried to google installation issues, but the only significant advice I found was to install it somewhere other than C:/Programs to avoid UAC issues, which I needed to do anyway due to lack of space on my C partition.
My first attempt almost finished, but hung on Voices2.bsa. After waiting 90 minutes (yes, I try to be patient) I cancelled the install, did a system restore, and deleted the installation folders. I tried again, first right clicking the setup.exe file to run as administrator. That time it hung much earlier in the process, at textures.bsa.
Any suggestions?
