Hi, here’s hoping you can help solve my Network problem.

When I access my correctly mapped network drive, Vista (Home Premium) asks
me for my username and password even though I provided it when I mapped it
originally and chose the option to “reconnect at log on”.

Is there a way to for Vista to remember my password so I don’t need to do
this each time, it drives me nuts!

(Please subscribe to this thread so you can get updates)..

Thanks in advance

I have the same problem here. I map a network drive, but have to re-enter
the password everytime I connect. But what's worse, I can network a printer,
print off of it, but if I restart or have to reconnect, I have to delete the
printer and re-add it to be able to print again. I have no idea how to
correct this.

In XP and 2000 Microsoft allowed the user to enter a different user name
and password and have it saved so the user did not have to do this each
time. With Vista this option is not accessible from the map network
drive screen, you can use a different user name and password but the
option to save it is not visible. The option is still embedded in the
OS but I don't know how to make it visible. I know it still exists
because when installing Peachtree part of the setup asks you to map a
network drive and the option to save the user name and password is
visible.
