Mouse does not work on Microsoft Word 2007

I have a Dell XPS M2010 laptop and am using Windows Vista. A few weeks ago,
my mouse stopped working in Microsoft Word. I can't right click or scroll
down using the vertical bar. The mouse works for all other applications
except Microsoft Word 2007. I even switched the mouse and it still doesn't
work. I re-installed Word 2007 and the mouse still did not work.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Scan for viruses. Also see if there are any Add-Ins loaded. They could be
intercepting the mouse messages.

This was also the fix I needed. I had no problems until after I ran
"Registry Mechanic" might have been a coincidence, but thought I would
mention it.

That's not at all surprising. It was Registry Mechanic.

Oh my, thank you!
I was getting really frustrated when my laptop restarted automatically,
and then the mouse stopped working in MS Word! Now I can continue with
my assignment.
