Media Center: "No pictures were found" but they're really ..

Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>music_pictures_video (more info?)
When I attempt to browse my picture library in media center, I can see all of
the folder names that are in my "Pictures" library. When I open one of the
folders however (to view the .jpg's inside it) I get a "No pictures were
found" message.

This is very strange because if I open WMP11 and browse my picture by folder
I can view them just fine. And all of there pictures are right there in
C:\users\my_name\pictures.

I've removed and added folders to watch in media center a zillion times, and
it still doesn't work. I've also gone in to WMP 11 and initiated a manual
scan for new items and still no luck.

Why can't I get media center to display my .jpg's?

Yes - I installed the "Vista compatible" demo and then uninstalled it about a
week later. What did Nero do to Media Center exactly?

It messed up the thumbnails in media center. Here is the fix:

I can't find the name of who posted this, but again I thank him.

Also deleting C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\NeVideo.ax will
help if you have problems playing .avi files.

Thank you! That did the trick! Wow! Well there goes my faith in Nero! I had
preferred Nero over Roxio products in past years because IMHO Roxio products
were so bad! Is seems like Nero is starting to fall into that same category!

Well --- Now it's time to start looking for some other good CD-ROM Burning
software!!!

How can I make a file that will edit the registry table automatically?
*.reg file doesn't seem to work on Vista.

I don't think this is just a Nero problem. I don't have Nero installed and
none of my videos would show up in Vista Media Center either. After making
some of the registry changes you show below, it now finds these videos.
