Is it possible to create a profile that will permit WMM to create an mpg
file in MPEG-2 format?

I have Windows Media Profile Editor installed but obviously I need to do
more in order to be able to select an MPEG-2 codec.

Bypassing WMM altogether is not an option since it would take a tremendous
amount of time to recreate the custom effects that I did for this video.

I should also add that I don't want to convert wmv to mpg since I have more
conversions to do and I don't want to lose any quality in advance.

If you're using the Home Premium or Ultimate versions of Vista, you can skip
the step of saving to a movie file and go right to MPEG2 using DVD Maker.

Open the Movie Maker project file in DVD Maker and burn a disc.... the VOB
files on the disc will be MPEG-2.

But my programs won't work with VOB files.

VOB files are MPEG-2 files... you can copy and rename them to .MPG.

If I had known that, I could have saved a LOT of time. Thank you very much.
