Guys,
Over the New Year break I updated my system from WinXPSP2 to Vista (Clean Install).
Now I'm having an issue with outbound emails not being sent from Outlook 2003. It appears to be something with the SMTP.
A search on Google shows that a number of people have had issues with Outlook 2003 and Vista but from the ones I've checked, their solutions don't fix mine.
I know my settings worked when with WinXP as I have taken screenshots of the Outlook mail settings dialogue boxes, but these same settings don't work. I've also checked with the company I host my webpage on at
http://kb.doteasy.com/idx.php/119/435/SmartMail-Migration/article/I-ca...ot-send and my settings are ok.
I have tried:
1) disabling anti-virus (free AVG) scanning on outbound emails (although I never touched the settings in AVG with WinXP)
2) Making Outlook 2003 ok as a server in the Programs settings of ZoneAlarm.
3) Using the default port 25 as well as 587 as suggested on the above mentioned link.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with the default programs that Vista have set up.
Inbound emails all ok. Oh, I've also found that my Ipaq seems to be stuck on syncing my files (it shows something like 28 of 51 done) and I suspect the ones it can't sync are the tasks from Outlook. I thought I would mention this in case it was connected and might help diagnose the problem.
Any help greatly appreciated.
