So I built my own comp and so far its been a bit of hell as there were some issues with vista 64bit and 4gigs of ram. I DL'd the fix from microsoft and now I can use my vista with out it crashing randomly. However, when ever I play a game (ive tried more than one, they all do this) it goes for little while then the whole computer freezes. The sound blips on slowly and I have to restart or shutdown. *sigh*

I am running vista 64bit, 4gigs ram, evga 8800gt (superclocked)

Any help would be amazing and I would kiss your feet. Thanks

have you checked the cooling inside your case..it kinda seems like it might be freezing up due to heat issues...it could also be a bad hdd...bad install of windows will cause this and more havoc...consider upgrading to sp1... even the refresh is worth it until the final sp1 is released. Is your system over clocked, maybe turn it down a bit. Are you using the latest drivers for your card, are they beta? try one or the other...The games, are you running them at settings that are higher than you can handle..(i don't mean, opinion, i mean more than the game's recommended settings for your hardware). Well, those are some general things to check but it really does sound like a heat issue.
