When using RDC to my remote systems from Vista Business I get a Windows
Security screen with the logon information. The first option defaults to the
remote PC's local logon. After I want to select a domain on the remote PC I
use "Use another account". Here I can enter the user name and password but
the domain cannot be changed. Is there a way to change the domain name here?

At the moment I logon to the remote PC with it's PC name as domain, with
subsequently fails. However, at that time I am already on the remote system
and am able to choose the correct domain to logon.
