I'm taking the liberty of copying from another website an inquiry which did not receive an answer. I have the same question and hope that there is a solution. Thanks. Here's the question:

Used to be that once you changed the location where you wanted OE attachments saved, the setting remained "sticky". I think one of the OE Security patches broke this setting - now every time you save an attachment the default location reverts to "My Documents".

Is there anyway to change this default location to something else ("Desktop" for example) or get Windows to remember where I want the files to go?

Hi, create the folder you want ot save the file to, then go to the file you want to save and go to >save as>organize tab>select properties>location>and put in the location of where the file is to be saved.

Thanks for your information, Monty007. I followed your suggested path, but ran into a problem when I chose "Properties" -- this opened up the "Personalization" window, offering ways to personalize the appearance and sounds of the desktop. There does not appear to be anywhere to indicate a new default destination for saved material. Could it be that my Vista OS is prohibiting such a change?

This is strange. I tested this in a VM, So when you open an attachement and right click on it and go to save as, it will bring up a window and one of the tabs has organize and you then click on properties and there should be more tabs with one saying location? Although this should work I found this link that may help http://www.resellerratings.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94997
