Help!

BAD Boot Problem On Vista, I cant get into my computer

i have Vista basic, it has started up fine for the past month.
now...when i boot up a screen appears and it will say- windows did not shutdown correctly- or something to that effect.
when i choose boot windows normally, i will get a blue screen before i can login and it will restart my computer.
...Right now i can only run in safe mode!!
i need help, i cant get onto my computer normally

Once you boot into safe mode try running a system restorepoint, can you post the blue screnn error code?

sorry it took a while to reply

i tried a system restore
it worked...it boots up fine, for now
