Whenever I play AoM, the screen while periodically flicker and flash for a few minutes, then it will just flat out quit.

Then, a little window in the lower right states that "drive igfx stopped buts is working properly," and how many times the message pops back up is directly proportionate to how many times AoM "flickered," i.e., if it glitched 18 times, 18 of those "driver igfx" will pop up?

I'm pretty new to Vista, so I'm prety lost on what route to take right now. Any suggestions?

Ok, since people, for some reason, are only VIEWING instead of REPLYING, I'll try to simplify my query: since my graphics driver seems to be the problem, is there anything I could do to fix it?

Like I said, when it flickers or flashes while playing, a message pops up stating the igfx driver had stopped, but is now fixed. PLEASE help me.

Hiya, this problem will be because you have probably got an Intel 945GM Express chip set and of course a version of Vista. Since upgrading to Vista I was getting this problem too on my Dell Inspiron.

I fixed mine by ensuring I have the latest driver installed (7.14.10.1147 for mine). This should install the configuration tool. The problem seems to be to do with the Intel Display Power Saving Technology. Disable it and all works fine. To do this, from the config tool, select the display settings option, click the power settings button and disable it.

Worked for me. Hopefully it will for you too! Let me know if it does. Very Happy

Cheers.
