I am running Vista 32bit, and I've got the Remote Wonder, originally
bought with the AIW 8500 Pro, working quite well, thanks to some
freeware.
Here's what I did to get to where my wife can use it without
complaints:
1. Install the 3.04 drivers available on the ATI website
2. Install the x10 drivers
3. Rename the RW Key Factory plugin from RWKeyFactory.dll to
GemstarRmtPgn.dll and replace the Gemstar plugin in the Plugin
directory. Check Gemstar in the plugin menu.
(I found that imported plugins will disappear when the ATI software is
rebooted. You can use the RW Key Master, but if you do you lose the
ability to call programs with the alphabet keys, for now.)
4. I have desktop LCD monitor and a TV behind a composite video switch
on my old Pioneer receiver as dual monitors plugged into my Visiontek
2600 Pro. I split the audio from the Audigy 2 to my desktop speakers
and the receiver. I use BAT files to call 12noon Display Changer from
the Program buttons to manipulate the desktop automatically. I can
switch between the desk and the dated entertainment center by toggling A
and B from my couch.
Here are the scripts:
dccmd.exe -monitor="\\.\DISPLAY2" -more -primary -width=1024
-height=768 -left
dccmd.exe -monitor="SONY SDM-S74 DVI-D " -apply -secondary
dccmd.exe -monitor="SONY SDM-S74 DVI-D " -detach
dccmd.exe -monitor="SONY SDM-S74 DVI-D " -more -primary -width=1280
-height=1024
dccmd.exe -monitor="Generic Non-PnP Monitor" -apply -secondary -detach
dccmd.exe -monitor="Generic Non-PnP Monitor" -detach
The television isn't Plug and Play, so I have to use the wildcard to
turn it on.
I've configured RW Key Factory to control primarily SM Player, and
I've made it functional with Netflix's Silverlight player, although
there aren't many key mappings available for it.
