|
|
Hello,
I have NIS2005(3 user licence) on my machine and after hesitating for a long time to remove it I have finally decided to upgrade to NIS2007.
I have just a couple of questions about this...
1) I can get the upgrade for £50 at amazon or the full product for £35.
Why is the upgrade more expensive? Should I buy the full product since it is cheaper?
2)Am I ok to buy NIS2007 having NIS2005? or do I need to update to NIS2006 first?
3)If I buy the upgrade, will I have to remove NIS2005 first? I read many people had problems removing versions of NIS resulting in a new installation of the OS.
Thx |

Hi Quali74,
Let me address your problem as a professional in the Computer Business.
I have to deal with Norton every week and I've developed the only sure-fire way to deal with the ever increasing prices and the bloat and system overload that it causes.

I'd think that right there would tell you that somethings just horribly wrong with it.
I first Uninstall it (see my signature line, then download and run the Norton Removal Tool) and then I clean out the registry and remove its redundant folders from the hard drive.
Then I install AVG 7.5 FREE (I stress the FREE part).
It's actually a better anti virus program, finding more viruses and trojans than Norton and won't load down your computer and make it run slower, (like Norton will). But if you've been reading this forum for more than a day, you'd already know that.
Here's how to get AVG: (FREE)
AVG 7.5 FREE:
World famous AVG 7.5 FREE will keep your computer free of viruses, trojans, dialers, worms, etc.
By default, it updates and scans for viruses on a daily basis.
It can be downloaded from:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5
Scroll down the page to the orange area and then click on:
avg75free_446a991.exe (or the currently posted version)
Save to your desktop and run the install from there.
If you have an older version of AVG free already installed,
use the 'Repair Install' option when installing v. 7.5.
Immediately get updates. More than one may be required.
OK, that's the whole answer to your problem. It don't get no simpler than that.
Happy Computing!
The Shadow
Oh, by the way, all the worlds best computer security software is FREE.

thx for the reply,
The software needto be bought for a for 'commercial' PC and therefore there won't be anything FREE for me this time.
I am after something that's ALL-IN-ONE (Firewall-antispam-email-checked,spyware). It's simpler that way for me.
NORTON is installed and if I can keep it, I'd rather do that. I've read a bit about all the security suites and none are perfect. So I might as well keep norton. It may slow down the PC a lot, but that not a problem for me.
So back to my questions... any idea? |
