| Whenever Avira hits an archive, I get a message in the report that it
cannot scan any more files in the archive. This leaves me wondering if
I'm vulnerable. Question: How can I open and scan those archives?
Today, specifically, it's a cab file.

Is it a password protected (i.e., encrypted) .zip file perhaps? If
encrypted files were so easy to decrypt, there wouldn't be any point in
encrypting them. Its content won't be encrypted if and when you choose
to extract files from that archive.
Read the manual yet? An online copy for the Personal version (free) is
available at http://www.free-av.com/en/documentation/index.html. See
page 51. |

In the Expert Configuration mode, you may have to increase the depth of scanning withing
the Archive.

I increased the level of incursions to 99 - the max allowed. However,
what is an incursion? I am assuming that's what you mean by depth of
scanning. |
