Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general, others (more info?)

I had a scheduled scan that was activated a while back but never
finished. Since then there have been a few scheduled scans that were
completed, but that "incomplete" scan still shows its status in the
scan history as "scanning..." and if you right click the line item it
says "please wait for scanning to finish". How do I delete this thing?
Is there a value in the registry I can change?
Thank you.

Did Symantec stop answering questions posted through their web form?

To remove items from the log file open windows explorer and navigate to the log file. The path should be similar to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition\7.5\Logs

Locate the date of the scan that is incorrect and open the file.
Search through the data until you find the line that shows a scan started but does not show being completed. Delete the line and save the log file.
This should do it.

If you don't want to bother with locating the line that is incorrect and you don't mind loosing all information for the date showing the scan started but never finished; you could just delete the entire file that is the date of the incorrect information. This will remove all the scan information for said date.
