I am an amateur radio operator and I use my laptop to run my radio
station, mainly during contests.

I recently installed contesting software that is creating a false
positive. Kaspersky tells me there's a Trojan in the application, the
manufacturer says that's a false positve.

I have added the application to the Kaspersky Trusted Application list
-- C:\Program Files\Folder name\applicantion name.exe

However -- Kaspersky still alerts me to the Trojan and still deletes
the .exe file.

The only way I can run the program is to turn off Kaspersky -- which I
don't want to do.

What am I missing here? Why will Kaspersky not ignore the application
after I added it to my Trusted Application list?

And, yes, I rebooted after adding it and Kaspersky still alerts.

Submit the file to the website virustotal.com. It will be scanned by 40
anti-virus programs. Report back here if any of them detect your file
as malicious.

If you can locate the entry for that alert in the "detected threats" I
think you can right click it and choose "send" to send it to Kaspersky
Lab for analysis.

When you contacted Kaspersky's support team, what did they tell you?
