Anyone have a take on what I might try in safe modes to try and get back to the desktop?
Most I can get it to do, is using one safe mode that actually tells me anything probably useful, is when I use the 'directory Services restore - windows domain controllers only'.
It tells me that c&d drive check out, I get the resulting windows window titled 'booting in safe mode - directory services repair' which then it's pane fills in with text saying 'checking on file system D', and then says 'cannot determine file system of drive \??\volume {0n1b6f43fo-5a5b-11db-91e2-806d6172696f}.' and than says 'volume is clean.
Do I no hopeful alternative but to try to use the onboard F10 to try and format it?.
I say that as, I had the laptop's optical drive removed, now using external opt' drive, but never could get anyone to tell me hopw to get the BIOS to default go to or seek it in event of a prblem like this (where I might be able to use my OEM's system restore CD).
I think I may be so screwed.
Oh ya, what caused it was my eEye Blink Personal failed to catch the infected pen drive, then made mistake of using TM's Housecall, after that log on and immediate back off is where I'm at.
