Hi,

By chance I noticed that Zone Alarm is blocking access from 192.168.1.1: 1024 - 5000, it steps through the port range in blocks of 11, it does this continuously. It is reported as "Program access / svchost.exe" . There are no other recorded attempts in the ZA log.

I have tried to identify what program on my PC is initiating these returns without success, I don't really know how to do this effectively.

The current installation of XP Home is only a few weeks old and ZA has registered 1595 access attempts none high rated, all from this port range. There are only 27 programs installed on the PC. I know for sure when I recently installed a Linksys WRT54GS I was not recording any attempts, the router blocked them all.

Something has changed, but I can't pin down where they are coming from and how these access attempts are getting past the router.

Any ideas?

Jim.
