Whenever Spy Sweeper is installed (version 5.3 or greater) on my PC which is a Dell Dimension 8400, 2GB Memory, 2 x 160GB hard drives with high speed internet access, I am unable to shutdown or restart Windows XP normally. I am using XP Pro SP2 and I am also running ZoneAlarm Security Suite Ver. 7.0, however, whenever I try to shutdown or restart my system, it goes through all the normal shutdown/restart procedures and then freezes with a blank blue screen. The only option I have then is to turn off the PC manually. If I shut down ZoneAlarm and exit all active programs, it still does the same thing. The only way my system shuts down or restarts normally is by removing Spy Sweeper entirely.
I've used msconfig to remove all of the non-essential services, however, as long as the Spy Sweeper Engine service is running the proplem remains.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding this problem?
