Archived from groups: alt>comp>virus (more info?)

We rolled out McAfee VirusScan 8.5 to 200 machines with no negative
impact.

We later added McAfee AntiSpyware 8.5 and immediately started
receiving complaints from users that it would take upwards of 30-45
minutes on some machines to reboot. They would seems to hang in
shutdown, but given enough time would reboot. Removing AntiSpyware
'solved' the problem.

McAfee hasn't seen this before... has anyone else?

You need to follow up with Mcafee, you have a serious problem on your
hands. Luckily the virus scanner does a reasonable job of keeping
executables which are malicious out.
