I got a virus/malware on my home PC. After downloading a free spyware program, I was able to identify several EXE and DLL files that had been loaded (icthis.exe, icmntr.exe, isfmm.exe and more). I was then able to do a search for these files (some having same name in the dll) and delete them.

Now...my search feature doesn't work from any application and it appears that I can not copy/paste or drag any files. I purchased a USB Flashdrive today so I could copy all my files to it, then had planned on wiping out XP Professional and re-installing.

Your thoughts on why I can't copy or drag these and why my search function doesn't work any longer?

I should also add...I can no longer get onto the internet from this PC. My wireless PC still works so I know it is not a provider issue.

Try installing and running these popular programs.

AdAware 2007
SpyBot S & D 1.5.2
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware

Also, turn off system restore until the problem is fixed. If possible, remove the Hard Drive and scan it on a separate PC.

If you are able to eventually connect to the internet, go to this website.
