I have tried search and come up with different Symantec topics, however what I am trying to find out after reading a number of articles while googling how to rid totally of NAV 2007 is that some forums have said that more than add/remove and the Norton Uninstall Tool are needed to ri d of any leftovers from this program??

I am an inept tech user and afraid to wander astray and mess up my notebook.
The articles that I have read have said that all the Uninstall Tool does is "disable" NAV 2007 but never goes on to say how to rid of everything?

Has anyone grappled with this issue before and what is the easiest means for a simpleton user like myself?

I know I can use Search for e.g. NAV 2007 or Symantec and check Program Files after I do Add/Remove, however that is the extent of my knowledge in this "www world".
As you can see me display my ignorance.

I hope that there is someone out there that can help make the removal as easy as possible in lay persons terms.
I always print out the instructions and keep them in a journal.....for future reference. However I will not journalize them as I never plan to use NAV again.
I don't have the System works or Suite just the A/V.

My OS is xpsp2.
Thank you

I'm surprised that there have been no answers to your post, since you first made it. Where's that Norton expert when you need him?

Well, Norton does produce one very excellent program.
I rely on it and use it quite often.
It's called the "Norton Removal Tool".
It's also updated often to keep it current.

Yes, you should always use the Windows Add/Remove applet first to at least attempt to let Windows Uninstall Norton.

Even if that action succeeds, it's still a good idea to run the "Norton Removal Tool". Then in Windows Explorer look under \Program Files\ for any Symantec folders left over from the previous operations.

The "Norton Removal Tool" is the one Norton product that I use most and rely on heavily in my computer business.
Try it.....you'll like it! Wink Laughing Laughing

You can download the NRT from Here!

Be sure to download the proper version for your Operating System.

* Windows Uninstall of Norton will fail if you're in SAFE mode.

Good Luck and Happy Computing,
