Lockergnome recommending program with trojan?

The program - My Corkboard

AVG free does not pick it up except when a shell extension test is run
then it finds downloader.small.4.BQ

F-prot finds downloader.W32.small.go

Neither AV finds the other downloader, however there is one there and on the programs 'kudos' page, there is a recommendation from lockergnome.

If the downloader can be removed from the program safely and the program still works can someone tell me how it is done?

If not, why is it so widely promoted as an excellent screensaver? Confused

Hello AmereMortal and welcome to Lockergnome!

It could be a false positive, so you might want to submit it for scanning by the vendor.
I've looked at the kudos page and that recommendation is really old. Since the recommendation is so old the program might have been modified heavily and might not be recommended any more.

Actually, I was hoping the trojan had been removed by now, as this was why I removed corkboard in the first place, over 4 years ago when I found out it was there. I would be so happy to find it was a false positive!

I did send corkboard a message, I think a feedback form, telling them I was not impressed it was there, but never recieved any response from them at all.

So, you suggest submitting it to the maker of the spyware program that found it? Not sure which 'vendor' you mean Question
