Hi all

Am I a technophobe or is this normal:

Call the "Gold Support" hotline and wait - queue for half an hour and hang
up.
Call the "Gold Support" hotline and select the call back service - try to
enter contact number to be told "Sorry please hang up" having gone through
the usual tiered multi option introductory menu.
Try the alternative contact number - not operational.
Try the mysupport web site portal - get server error page.

So the issues I have are:

After install of Anti Virus Version 8.5i.........

1. The option to disable on access scan is greyed out constantly despite
installing with Admin rights and logging in as Admin.
I usually disable on access scan when installing software, so how is this
now achieved?
2. Downloaded both the application and help files as separate zips. How do
I get the application to load or "see" the location for the help file. When
I select help from Anti Virus it attempts to download help file and fails.
3. To install V8.5i I had to accept removal of the Spyware module (V8.0i).
There doesn't seem to be an option for downloading the Anti Spyware any
more. Has this been dropped? Can I re-install Anti Spyware V8 to work with
Anti Virus V8.5i?

Thanks in anticipation that someone will be able to step in where McAffee
help has failed so miserably.

Phil

I think I've seen answers to 1 and 2, and maybe 3 as well, on the McAfee tech forum.
