Hello.
I've been trying to install Mcafee 2009 at home.
my OS is xp pro.
But when the autoplay throws up the installation dialog it is empty
of clickable menu items and is just a white box with the Mcafee bar across
the top.
I tried the cd at work and it works correctly with clickable items in the
white box.

Is there a trojan or somethin hijacking the installation process.

I have Panda 2006 that has recently expired and this scenario is identical
with
Panda installed or not.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Maybe you haven't updated your XP lately. SP3 is significant - it fixes
a number of operational issues. Could be your problem.

Thanks. You are more or less correct. I had installed sp3 a couple of
weeks ago but I checked for updates anyway.
I am using the motherboard video and it provides NVIDIA SOMETHIN SOMETHIN
6150. And lo and behold that among
the hardare updates from m'soft was a fix for the very same video drivers.
And this did the trick.

But in the end I had 2 a/virus packages and I had heard good words about
Kaspersky so opted for this.

Thanks again.
