How do I Delete all Norton/Symantec Virus protection befor..

My Norton Virus Protection has expired. I heard that AVG is a great
(And Free) Anti-Virus software but also heard that having Norton AND
AVG on your PC at the same time is a big No No. Reading up on the
matter I read that there are softwares to get rid of all the Norton
files before adding AVG.

1. Is that true?
2. Where can I get these softwars?
3. Is there anything that Norton had that AVG lacks?

My PC ran perfectly for 2 years. After the new year 2007 and Norton
expired my PC began to slow right down and continues to do so. Every
time I do anything a small window pops up at the bottom right part of
my screen and says "Norton checking such and such a file." That never
used to happen before the Norton software expired.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks a million.

Yes

Get Symantec's removal tool. You can try to uninstall it, but reports
indicate that uninstalling it doesn't always work.
