I have a drawing with lines that overlap in numerous places. Think like a
basket weave, or similiar pattern.
I'm trying to get the lines to overlap and underlap in the right order but
am having trouble. When I bring one to the front it works fine but eventually
I have to place that line behind another. When I do that it is back behind
the one I just brought it in front of.
Is there a way to maybe bring in front of "line A", but not "line B,C, and D"?
Is there a difference between the Bring to Front, and the Bring Forward
commands? |

There is a difference between Bring Forward and Bring to Front. Bring
Forward works one shape at a time, meaning that your shape swaps places in
the Z-order with the shape immediately on top of it. This action assumes
that such an overlapping shape exists; otherwise nothing happens. If there
are multiple overlapping shapes, you can use Bring Forward multiple times to
gradually move your shape up the Z-order. Bring to Front moves your shape
to the top of the Z-order. This means the shape appears on top of every
other shape on the page. This action does not depend on there being
overlapping shapes.
There is only one Z-order for shapes. That means that a basket weave look
is not possible. A shape cannot be both under and over another shape.
