I have created a new shape and set the double-click behavior to edit the
shape's text. How do I allow the text to be repositioned?

The shapes that come with Visio show a yellow handle to allow repositioning.
I need to add this to my new master shapes.

Thanks,

Rob

The yellow handle is a control handle. In those shapes, a control handle is
added and the TxtPinX, and the TxtPinY in the Text Transform section point
to the control handle. Open the shapesheet of one of the shapes you are
trying to mimic and see what is in the Controls and Text Transform sections.

Thanks,

One more thing, is there a way to print the shape?

Hi Rob,

the tool to reposition the textfield is the icon beneath the text tool icon
('A') and is called the text block tool, the icon consists of a small
unfineshed circle with a small 'a'.
Tou just select the text with that tool and then you can reposition it.

That method is cumbersome.

I would like my shapes to act like the ones that are included in Visio. When
I click on one of these shapes they show a yellow handle that allows me to
reposition the text. Also, the text box width grows as I add characters to a
line. Your method means I have to resize the text box every time I want to
add more text to a line.

Since the shapes that come with Visio can do this, I am sure there must be a
way for me to make mine do it.

Thanks,

Rob
