dropdown menu?

I'm new to this and not very techie. I have two menus so far that are linked
to 4-5 pages. How do I know they work properly? Do I create a drop down?
In "design" view I can't tell. I know this is simple, but I'm stuck. any
help?

Open in a browser and test them.
Whether or not you want to create a dropdown menu is up to you. There
are plenty of examples available on the internet.
