Yes. Ctrl+T.
You cannot make the text partially transparent. The text box can only be
semitransparent in Publisher 2002 or 2003, and this does not always print
correctly.

Thanks Ed, I tried that & it not quite what Im after. In microsoft word you
can make the fill of a text box semi transparent. This is good for instance
if you have the text box partially over a colur picture. This lets you see
the text with the picture showing through. I cannot find away of doing this
in publisher. So I want to make a semi Transparent text box in publisher.

Thanks P

You can make the text box transparent. Fill, more fill colors, there is a
transparency slide in this menu, but as Ed said this transparency will not print
correctly. You'll have better luck once you have the transparency the way you want is
to copy the object and paste special as a .emf. You can make WordArt transparent, but
not text.

This requires Publisher 2002 or 2003, like I said before. There is a
semitransparency slider, as well as other options like semitransparency in
the gradient tool, etc.
