Hello,

Alls I want to do is to create a physical MS Access
database and tables from my entity-relationship diagrams
(logical) in Visio. But it does not work. In Visio, I
define the tables for the entity and columns, but when I
use the Database Macros, the columns and table properties
do not show up.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to automatically
create a simple MS Access database using Visio Entity-
Relationship database diagrams? logical --> physical

Thank you.

You would require either Visio 2000 Enterprise or Visio 2002 Enterprise
Architect.
In the Database model diagram, click on the "Database" menu and there should
be a "Generate Database" function.
If there isnt a "Generate Database" function and if the database diagram
doesnt have error checking (e.g. two tables of the same name), then it isnt
the Enterprise edition.

Thanks

yes the number one reason I'd wager at least 50% of the ppl using Visio to
build database diagrams, is disbaled in all but the most expensive versions

I don't know if I'd go as high as 50% on that usage. In my own experience,
I'm seeing it used more for the following:

-Architectural/Facility work
-Process engineering
-General diagramming

Believe it or not, I know of some who use it as a general-purpose
illustration tool mainly! I'll wager THOSE numbers are low... but I could
be wrong!
