how do i add files to my web site?

Here are some rules to follow - if you follow them there should not be any
broken links.


Always open the site in FrontPage before you edit or add anything.

Always use File->Import to bring in files from outside the website - this
includes images, Word files, pdf files etc. -
and use the File->Import dialogue to place these files inside your web site.

Always move files or rename files, with FrontPage - never with Windows
Explorer or any other program.

Always create new pages with the web site open in FrontPage.

Never add pictures etc. to the page UNLESS the picture is already in your
web site - use File->Import to get the image into the site.

Never move files, rename files or add files to your site using Windows
Explorer - always do this with FrontPage.

Never open a page with any other program, except a web browser or FrontPage.

When you have finished editing, Publish using FrontPage.


When you have some experience, some of these rules can be bent a little -
but then you will know what can be done and how to do it safely.
