We have a Windows Server 2003 R2 file server which hosts all our documents. We used to use Microsoft Services for UNIX to allow a linux box to mount 3 of the directories but after upgrading to the R2 version of NFS Services, we are getting a number of issues opening Visio files amongst others. We are also using R2 quotas, which were in place before the NFS upgrade. All quotas are within limits.
Before the upgrade we had no issues and none of the files in question are in folders that are attached via NFS. No permissions were altered either.
The message that comes up for the visio files is: Visio internal error: #3400 Action 1283: Open File.
First try closing and reopening the file. Next try restarting Visio.
If we copy the file to the local PC, the file opens fine.
We also get an error with importing text files into an access database from this server, and Pagemaker won't allow us to place images sourced on this server. All these process work fine if we move the images and text files to the local machine.
Local Management on the Server shows that the files in question are not being accessed by anyone and there are no errors, warnings or failure messages in the eventlogs.
Any ideas out there? Downgrading NFS is not an option at this time due to features we require in our environment to access the three folders on the server.
Thanks in advance
