I have Visio Standard 2003 installed on my Windows XP
Box. I have purchased the Visio Professional 2003
Upgrade. On attemepting installation this fails because
I haven't got a qualifying Visio Installation.
Is this correct? Have I been mis-sold the upgrade
package?
Thanks in anticipation,
Tom |

Hi,
This doesn't appear to make sense.
If you have an older version of the Vision Software, then
you can use the Professional Upgrade. However, if you
have a more recent version of Visio Standard then you
cannot upgrade. Penalised for more recently bought a
Visio Product!!!!

Tom

The normal upgrade is from one version to the next, but keeping the same
edition (Standard or Pro). You are asking for an upgrade by edition within a
version. I'll see if I can get an answer about that and the other possible
upgrade (new version, different edition)

I "walked" into this one as well. Not to happy is there any way around this problem. My old version (V4) is to old to qualify and of course the new one is to new. Its an expensive lesson I suppose and after 20+ yrs in computing I should have known better. I won't make this mistake again!

Another 'walker' here It's a little annoying not to have product
edition upgrade within same version. Especially taking into account that some
features drifted away from standard edition over verions without much of
advertising |

Another sucker over here. I was told by Best Buy. Because they did not carry
the Visio Pro. That I can just Buy the standard 2003. Then go online and buy
the upgrade. When I went to do so I found out that my version (Visio 2003
Standard) was not eligable. Since when have not been able to upgrade your
software? Isn't that your whole marketing scheme? I always thought Micro Soft
has been pretty fair about things like this. I've spent thousands of dollars
on your products. Now I'm starting to lose trust in your company. And from
the looks of it I'm not the only one.
Thank You,
I'm
$200.00 poorer
