I have both technical and pro versions of visio, with pro 2000 installed.
How can I add the shapes from the technical version?

You can install one and then install the second on top. This will leave you
with a combined version and the only difference the order makes is that the
splash screen reflects the last one installed.

The difference between Pro and Tech is each has specialized stencils and
add-ons. Visio Technical was dropped and it's content was rolled into Visio
Professional.

If you have Visio 2000 SR1 (it has Microsoft branding on the product) you
should consider upgrading. This is the oldest version that qualifies for an
upgrade and once the next version of Visio is released later this year, it
will no longer qualify for an upgrade. If you are really daring, wait until
the next version is released and upgrade to Visio 2003. In the past, anyone
upgrading to the previous release around the release of the next version
qualified for a free upgrade to the ltest version. Of course, there is no
guarantee that this will happen this time and you may lose out on an
upgrade.

Thanks John,

I have the Visio branded "Technical", and the Microsoft branded Visio 2000
SR1 Pro.

The pro version does not include the shapes from technical in my versions.

I will try a clean install of technical, then pro, and see what happens.

That should work and the Visio 200 SR1 still means that you qualify for an
upgrade to Visio 2003 Pro (which includes the content of Technical and Pro).
