| After saving the Org Chart I created using a template the Shapes Window
automatically docks in the left side of the window each time you open the
document. How do I prevent that Window from opening automatically each time I
open the document. I just want them to see the org chart.

Unfortunately, Visio always displays the Shapes Window when a document is
opened.

Not always. If you close all stencils from that window and save file, next
time it will not display.

You are correct, Digitall. The key is to actually close the stencils that
are in the Shapes window and then close the Shapes window. If you just
close the Shapes window, it reappears the next time. Thanks for the
correction.

It appears (now) that when you create the file and you assign it a "drawing
type", that the Shapes Window will always remain, no matter what you do. If
you create the file and do NOT assign it a drawing type...just say "New
Drawing", then you can add any stencil or shapes you wish, close the Shapes
Window and save the file...voila! It will not return!
