Don't think this is a problem with my printer as it works easily with other
documents, e.g. Word. Trying to print A4 document, resized to fit A3 paper.
At the moment it prints A4 item in middle of A3 paper without resizing
document. With exactly same settings in Word it does enlarge document.

Look in your printer settings for 'fit to page' or similar..

Had you bothered to STFW before posting, you'd have know n that's *EXACTLY*
what it was.The fact it "works easily with other documents" is completely and
utterly irrelevant. Word is a word processor, Publisher a DTP application and
the latter are MUCH more fussy about drivers. Have you tried updating yours?
No, of course you haven't, because you didn't think it was a problem. You'd
have known that it was had you not been so pathologically lazy.

Thanks for reply. Taken a while to get back, been in contact with HP re
printer, been through all settings, new driver, etc. Still doesnt work! They
now suggest it is a problem with Publisher, especially as it works fine on
Word. Have noticed on Advanced Settings, under Paper/Output there is only
Copy Count and no Paper Size as referred to in Microsoft Help. Grateful for
any suggestions.

Have you tried the PDF route?
There are free converters around
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=free+pdf+converter

In Publisher you can setup an A3 page, copy/paste from your A4 page, resize the
text boxes, select all the text, format, Auto fit text, click "Shrink text on
overflow."
