Archived from groups: microsoft>public>publisher>prepress (more info?)

I have been producing a monthly publication which has been going off to the
printer as a pdf (using the add-in that microsoft provde) happily for over a
year. About a week ago I tried to create the new issue and when I sent it to
PDF as I normally do I found the following problems:
1) Any jpeg that I had inserted with a transparent background was now
appearing with a solid background - either white or black
2) Previously embedded fonts that were reversed on a coloured background now
appeared with a white background

I have tried removing and reinstalling both Publisher 2007 and the add-in to
no avail. I have purchased NovaPDF in the hope that it might help and it did
- it solved the background and font problem - but created another problem. My
newsletter is 6 fold to A4 - I had no problem printing it as two custom size
pages using the pdf add-on, however, Publisher 2007 defaults to "tiled" no
matter what page size I select as the page size in the NovaPDF printer setup
the tiling over-rides it and I end up with 12 pages of cut up pieces.

If ANYONE can help I'd be so appreciative!

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

Are you using the same newsletter over and over. For some reason Publisher will
show signs of corruption if this is the case. Copy/paste your objects into a new
publication or start from scratch. jpg images do not support transparency. If
you are using the transparency tool in Publisher, right-click the image after
you apply the transparency, save as a picture, use the .png format. Re-insert
into your document.

The Microsoft add-in has a custom size setup. Does your NovaPDF have custom size
options? You may have to re-setup your print on the Print screen.

Is your stock A3? I'm not sure I know what you mean by 6 fold.
