I have customers on an NT server who get 'There has been a sharing violation.
The source or destination file may be in use' message when they try to
delete/rename or over write files that they own in folders where they have
correct permissions.
Does anyone have a solution to this? |

Are these questions related to FrontPage? This is a FrontPage newsgroup.

They use FP 2000, but the error situation exists even when they go to the
server via explorer, etc.

Hi Guys, just to update you, finally I found a way to solve it
Do you have error messages?, like :
* Path too long
* Error cannot delete file: cannot read from source file or disk
* Cannot delete file: Access is denied
* There has been a sharing violation.
* Cannot delete file or folder The file name you specified is not valid or too
long. Specify a different file name.
For that I tried it with: http://longpathtool.com/ |

What was the question? you have used a 2006 message to post a solution
which makes absolutely no sense.
