I have Visio 2007 trial installed to see if I can use it for modifying AutoCad drawings in DWG or DXF format before I purchase the software.
I like the Visio because it's simplicity end effectiveness.
I have dwg and dxf drawings made in AutoCad sent to me by e-mail, but when I save them on my pc, and open the dwg file in Visio 2007 I get following error: Cannot Open File. The file may not be a DWG or a DXF file, it may not be supported version of the DWG file format or it may be corrupted. I read at the microsoft site here
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896659 about this to save it in 2002 instead, or use older, but even then, I still get this trouble opening dwg file. However, I CAN open a DXF file and convert it into VISIO 2007 but then some of the symbols drawn in autocad was corrupted.
If anyone have seen exactly this same error with same conditions, please let me know on this forum, or directly to my e-mail, since this is a MUST to get fixed
