Archived from groups: microsoft>public>publisher>prepress (more info?)

We are producing a newsletter & I have created a table
showing information for each county in Washington state.
The table was formatted to easily fit on one page,
however, when I copy it onto a Publisher page, it blows
way out of proportion & will not "shrink to fit"
uniformly. Resizing handles only distort content. Does
anyone know how to do this? Do I have to link my Excel
file to Publisher or can I paste (or special paste) it? I
only have a couple days to figure this out, otherwise my
entire article is dumped. Excel 2002 to Publisher 2002.
Thanks.

If you go to Insert > Object > Create from File > Browse to your Excel file
and click ok, you will get your Excel file inserted in Publisher and it can
be resized with the handles.

Your method was successful in placing the object on the
Publisher page, however, when I printed a page to see how
the margins aligned, there was a series of
small "squarish" dots where the text should have been.
The page template was fine, but my spreadsheet looked like
it was braille. Suggestions?

Sounds printer driver related. Do you have another printer to attempt
printing to? Or an adobe printer driver? How does the print preview look?

There are many issues bringing in Excel spreadsheets. Sometimes you are
lucky and they work, other times they will not appear as required.
If you go menu EDIT > PASTE SPECIAL and select Paste as Picture is the
really only guaranteed way of getting the result you desire without pain at
times.
