I was trying to convert my Publisher file to CMYK PDF, so that the press will accept it. But after seeing the printed paper. I was very disappointed with the color shown there. I checked the forum, and I know it is due to the color space incompatibility.
The followings are what I have done, can someone tell me anything wrong and what I really should do.
1. Import CMYK jpg files into the publisher via "Insert->Picture->From file"
2. Tools -> Commercial printing tools -> Color printing -> Process colors(CMYK)
3. File -> Print -> Generic Color PS for Commercial Printing
4. Advanced Print settings -> Output -> Composite CMYK
5. Print to a .PS file
6. Open Adobe Distiller 6.0 -> Defult Settings -> PDFX1a
7. Begin to convert PS to PDF
the weird thing is, when I open the PDF file, it looks already in different color from the original Publisher file, even all pictures in Publisher are in CMYK. I know the color will change again after printed.
Can anyone tell me step by step what I should do BEFORE I send files to the press?
Thank you very much!!
